Many people think that spirit has one meaning but the truth is, the word spirit has more than one meaning. Many of the meanings are related to a non-corporeal substance otherwise known as "contrasted with the material body". People often use the word spirit as a reference to the consciousness or the personality. I don't know much more about the meaning but it's something.
